For my blog analysis, I decided to take a deeper look into my personal favorite blog written by Jared Carrabis. This blog is simply titled “Carrabis” and is essentially a daily Red Sox blog highlighting everything from game analysis to important team updates like coaching changes and roster switch ups. This blog is a branch of Barstool Sports but Carrabis has certainly made a name for himself among baseball fans in the demographic of 18-35 years old, often times blogging about other teams while still posting content about his beloved Red Sox. Jared also runs an extremely popular podcast titled “Section 10” which is also about the Red Sox. A lot of the fans from one of these entities are fans of the other one, so needless to say they are both pretty popular.
When talking about the formatting of the Carrabis blog its important to first mention the creative titles that are used to draw readers in. Often times Jared develops funny nicknames for the players he is covering and uses them in the titles or he thinks of creative ways to critique the Red Sox. What really sets Carrabis apart from other sports bloggers to me is his knowledge of the game. He presents complex information in a way where even the most casual of fans can understand and comprehend what he is conveying. Jared is quite popular on his twitter and instagram pages, and often times promotes his blogs there. With the Red Sox winning the World Series this past year the Carrabis blog saw a massive rise in popularity, and even with the Red Sox struggling so far this year the number of traffic going from his blog is tremendously high. The one negative about the Carrabis blog is that he can sometimes be biased towards the Red Sox. Thats not to knock his knowledge of the game but sometimes this can play a part of how well written the blog is.
This blog typically recieves high praise from all baseball fans, and Carrabis has even been credited for making baseball more entertaining again since it had seen a drop in ratings in recent years. On the blog, there is mulitple widgets where people can share it to reddit, twitter, facebook, and Instagram gaining access to fans that might not have known about the blog beforehand. By joining Barstool Gold you are able to access more exclusive blogs by Carrabis but a large majority of fans simply prefer the standard edition and the regular everyday content that is posted to the Carrabis blog. Overall the Carrabis blog is really popular among baseball fans and continues to grow in popularity to this day. Jared Carrabis has ventured out into other forms of media at Barstool Sports and has also found success there.
